I feel a bit like this little pine tree- overwhelmed. My saving grace has been painting everyday. It has been a great surprise that this little project is far from being yet another thing I need to get through in a day, but has actually become the thing I look forward to as I muscle through everything else.

I had hoped to paint outside today, but it was incredibly windy. I used a photo from yesterday's excursion instead. Finding subjects everyday is definitely a bit of a challenge. Another reason to admire the die hard Daily Painters.

I'm so glad to hear that this does not feel like a chore, but instead feels like a release. That's how it should be...

I love your color palette for Overwhelmed. Those greens are rich and oh so vibrant.

I like the looseness in your smaller works. Your brushwork is delightful. I need to follow you and try and paint everyday. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration for me Nicki!

Yes, Don, you are right. That is how it should be and I am so glad it has turned out like that.

The painting started off a bit more muted and complicated. In the end I decided to simplify and kick the colour up a notch for more impact. So glad you like these choices.

Hi Sheila,

Yes, this project has been a bit of a gift to myself right now. I've been amazed to discover that I do have time to paint everyday.

I find it easier to be loose on a small scale- weird, hey? You would think it would be the opposite.

And speaking of inspiration... you are one of the most generous bloggers I have come across with your passion to help others through your art; whether it is people or animals.

Have a great day,
Nicki

Hi Nicki,

Art certainly has the juice to power us doesn't it. Sometimes we need an extra shot of pleasure to get us through the hard times. Your little tree looks both beautiful and strong. Kind of like the artist who painted it. I like the green going up to the top of the image behind it, and no one does water better than you do!

Hi Suzanne,

It is something I have thought about for awhile now, and making a goal of 30 daily paintings seemed do-able!

Nice to hear from you.
