We were all very tired today, but the first sleepover party was a hit and all the kids were really good. The remainder of the day was definitely a jammie day and right now bed is looking really good! I managed to squeeze in a late afternoon painting session and got this little baby done. I'm using photos I took earlier this month when I was out doing errands after supper. The light was gorgeous- the sun was setting and the clouds in the east were glowing with oranges, lavenders and pinks. Next thing I knew I was heading out of town to take some photos. The ditches, dugouts and low fields were filled with runoff from melted snow and were showcasing the colours of the sky. It was breathtaking.

Spectacular. I love the thought of you heading out of town to catch the light. It reminds me of Monet working on one painting 60 days in a row to get the light right. There you are an Ault in Saskatchewan following the light, like Monet in France. So moving.

Hi Nicki, I've been 'missing in action' for over a week and I come back to find you've been quite busy. The three daily paintings you've done so far are quite lovely to behold. I look forward to following along as you continue this adventure. I can understand how challenging the idea of titling all of these in such quick succession will be. Good luck!

Lovely painting and description of your photo taking trek. It sounds delightful as this painting looks! Glad the sleepover was a success! happy creating!
I love the way you saw the colour and light in the water. Lovely!
Thank you, Barbara! I'm hardly Monet, but it's fun to imagine! I was so happy I had my camera with me. I think I will dream of France tonight!

Thank you, Don. I am really enjoying this challenge and think I will grow from it. You are always so creative with your titling, I may have to channel my inner Don to get through the next 27!
Nice to hear from you,
Nicki
Thanks Suzanne. It was so fun to get sidetracked like that... to bypass that turn into the mall and just drive out of town to enjoy the sky! Errands schmerrands!

What a great compliment, Kim! Thanks. Actually when I finished and was taking the photo, this painting reminded me of one you did. I think it was Inksetter Pond? Maybe it's the colours in this- I'm not sure. Anyway, I loved that one of yours.
