Did I mention I was in the mood for wild clouds and skies?

I had a feeling I should get my "daily painting" done this morning, which I did, and sure enough at lunchtime when I brought the kids home from school there was a message from a dear friend needing to know what I was doing tonight. I called her back and got the most wonderful invitation to go with her and two other friends to the Elton John concert!!!! Woo hoooooooooo!!! Luckily the painting was done, so the afternoon could be spent the way it needed to be in preparation of seeing Sir Elton... shaving my legs!!! I'm pretty sure he waved right at me when he came to our side of the stage. And he definitely sang "Nikita" for me! Ha!

Anyway, the name of today's painting had to be changed in honour of my concert experience. The words "don't wish it away" come from one of my favorite Elton John songs, "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues". Sigh. I haven't been to a concert for ages and had forgotten how much I love that moment when a new song is beginning and it just takes a few chords to realize what it is going to be and then you can't help but screech because you are so excited to hear it. That happened to me a few times tonight... "Rocket Man", "Daniel", "Crocodile Rock", "Bennie and the Jets", "Your Song", "Levon", "Candle In The Wind", "Sad Songs Say So Much". Hmmm, I guess that happened to me a lot tonight!

Gorgeous painting. Wow. wow. wow. And lucky you, that sounds fantastic. Great description of the way you feel when you know what song it will be.

P.S. I'm really back home now and filled with such exciting ideas!

The plumber will be here in 9 hours' time and I need to get some sleep before all hell breaks loose! So just catching up on this marvellous series but may not always get a chance to comment.

Will be interesting to see which is your favourite at the end. Often difficult to know at the time, I think?

PS - meant to say how envious I am of your concert! We mostly get Male Voice Choirs here in Wales; not that I'm complaining - they're wonderful! But a bit of Elton (live) would go down a treat sometimes! When my son was a newborn, often the only thing that would get him to sleep was my Elton John tape!

Hi Barbara,

Thank you! Three "wow's"! I'm so happy!

Glad you are home and I am excited to learn about your exciting ideas!

Hi Judy,

Thanks for stopping by while you are in the midst of such a busy time. I appreciate it whenever you are able to comment, so no worries! Yes, it will be interesting to see which is my favorite at the end. I already have a front runner, but there are many days left, so who knows.

Elton was fabulous. I feel so lucky that my friend called me when she came upon last minute tickets (from Elton's promoter no less!) Who knows how much longer he will tour, so I'm glad I had the opportunity to see him.

Take care,
Nicki
