As I was looking through my archives for a painting to donate to an event some family friends are holding for "The Walk For Memories" in support of Alzheimer's, I realized that I had never posted this painting. I did it last November right before the Open Studio. I love those moments on the prairies when the sky is ominous and dark, sometimes almost black, and yet the sun will still shine through any little gap it finds in the clouds. A ray of light, which to me, symbolizes hope. Life can be hard, no one leaves this world unscathed, but no matter how bleak things seem, the sun is always there waiting to shine again.

Another beauty, Nicki... I love a lot about it, but must acknowledge those lovely blues throughout the prairie and that kiss of light across the trees.
I've been very remiss in commenting of late. I continue to watch my favorite artists from afar, but have not had the time to stop for conversation. It's something I miss dearly.

Beautiful painting, and I'm sure you are a ray of light for many people with your beautiful work, and thoughts, as you are for me.

Love the perspective on details and the warmth emerging from this magical scenery with its gorgeous colours! Music for the soul.
Hi Don,
Thanks for your kind words... I, too, like the blues in the field!
I admit I have been terrible at keeping up with my favorite blogs... and especially at taking the time to comment. I still pop in and look at my favs, but have dropped the ball on making my presence known! And you are one of my favs.

Barbara, what a joyous person! You always make me smile with the generous words you leave. Thank you. You are an eastern light in my life! :)

Thank you for your poetic comment Pierre. I still can't get over that Sherry glass- I showed my kids and they could not believe it was a painting! You officially have two new fans! :)
