Easter 2011... Not For Sissies!

I don't often make a post without some sort of art or photo, but today is an exception. In the last 5 days my kids and I have been ravaged by some devilish flu bug that took us each down one at a time. Easter in our house this year was not for sissies! I will have more art soon- I promise!

In the meantime, today, while I was housebound with my oldest in the throes of his misery, I slowly plugged my way through the not-so-clear set-up of my Facebook Fan-page! It is quite rudimentary right now- I am not finding it as easy to navigate as Blogger. It's a start. I will figure more out. I really meant to do this much sooner. You see back in the fall I came across this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "Do one thing every day that scares you." I love that. It really inspired me. And I have- I've done some things that have pushed me out of my comfort zone- big time. However, I haven't done one scary thing a day as the quote suggests because, let's face it, that in itself is too scary! And setting up a Facebook page has been on my mind since reading that quote. It still freaks me out, but I am giving it a whirl. I'll let you know once it is really running smoothly.

Poor you. I hope everyone feels much better tomorrow. The Facebook page -- Facebook or Facebook fan -- both are good ideas and really easy I suspect.

Hi Barbara,

I am feeling much better and so are the boys. I hope it lasts.

I don't find Facebook that easy- I think I have some sort of block. My sister is coming over to talk me through some things and hopefully I'll twig onto these concepts!

Good luck with your New York show!

Hugs,
Nicki

Thanks Daniel! Your work is beautiful!

Hi Nicki - I really feel for your with your flu bugs! I also spent Easter indoors, feeling under the weather on account of the pollen. But I didn't have children to care for so I was quite glad to have the excuse to sit and make collages!

As for facebook - it took me a whole day to set it up last year and even then I got some things wrong which I haven't been able to change! More recently, I've been trying to take advantage of some of the recent changes to make my URL (for my 'Like' page)easier to remember - again, made a hash of it! Then someone suggested putting a 'badgefeed' on my GCU storefront. Had to google to find out how to do that and it took me a whole afternoon! Everyone says that the facebook 'help' is hopeless and better to google for answers so probably best I told you all these things after you set up and not before! Anyway, well done!I love that quote too!

Hi Judy,

Those allergies can really make a person feel sick. Sounds like you made good use of your time.

That's a good tip to Google for help because I find that Facebook is not that self-explanatory. My sister came over this morning and gave me a quick tutorial and I feel like I get it a bit better now. I do want to add a badge to my page for this "liking" business, so I'll look to Google for answers.
