It was fun to paint this bold statement on what I teased Jackie and Bridget was the only Maple in Georgian Bay. And the funny thing was it wasn't actually a Maple tree- it was a Birch down in front of Bridget's cottage, but I "Mapled" it up for effect! I enjoyed playing up the never-ending horizon line and giving the whole thing a bit of a graphic effect with the bands of water and sky behind the tree.
