I don't know if I have ever done it before, but I used a stock photo as inspiration for this painting. I feel like I have watched this exact storm while driving to the lake. After the winter we had I would welcome a prairie storm that involved rain and warmer temps rather than snow and a deep freeze. To me a glowing canola field under a stormy, black sky is quintessential Saskatchewan.

Ooooh, this one didn't photograph well either... the sky is better in person. It's the dark colour again. Never-the-less, I'm glad you like it! Thanks Barbara!
