The title explains it, but sometimes we get so much rain in a season that marsh waters begin to swamp the surrounding land and drown little trees along the way. Mother nature can be harsh, but also dramatically beautiful.

I love painting these sunset reflections. I wanted to paint this one with softer, cooler colours than previous ones. There is still a bit of the heat of the day remaining, but the sun is almost gone and everything is cooling off.

This brand new painting was just delivered to Darrell Bell Gallery in time for a fresh gallery artist group show. There is lots of fantastic work, so when you are wandering around downtown in Saskatoon be sure to pop in and have a look. Yesterday I delivered fourteen paintings to Darrell Bell Gallery! Photos of the new work will be posted over the next several days. I had this one was at the studio, so I took it over as well. "Rustle" won the Hues Art Supply Award at the Mann Art Gallery Winter Festival in 2018. I really love the colours and the fluttery effect of the leaves. I hope it finds a place to call home.
