About Me

My photo
Nicki
I began this blog in August 2009 to record my journey as a mom trying to become an artist. As it turns out I have always been an artist, I just never had the confidence to think of myself that way. I have grown so much in these ten years and this blog reflects that. I used to wish I could paint like all the other artists I came across. Now I just want to paint like me. I actually want to be different! My immediate goal is to continue to find my unique voice through paint. Although my work is representational, I am not necessarily aiming for precise realism, but rather for an expression of how I see and feel the subject in that moment. Ultimately I hope to show my love for the natural world through my brushstrokes, compositions and colour choices. I welcome your comments and your emails. They help me feel connected, inspired and motivated. Thank you and stop by anytime!
