In October when I went with the Grade Two class on the field trip to the Saskatoon Natural Grasslands I received quite an education. Among the things I learned was how to spot clues of wildlife in the area. Sure enough we came upon a relatively large area where the grass was packed down; not in an interesting crop circle kind of way, but more in a random free-form sort of way. This is a deer bed! Deers took a load off and chilled here! That thought made me happy, so I painted it!

VERY COOL! : )
Thanks Memorabillia.
Thanks Monika! :)
That thought makes me happy, too - and so does this painting. Sweet colors! You already know how much I love your brush strokes, but I always feel that I should reiterate just so you don't forget. I love your brush strokes.

Hi Don,
I wanted to use a different palette for these last two prairie scenes, so I am pleased you enjoy the colours. As for the brushstrokes, I will never get tired of the reminder! Thank you!

I too love the colours and the brushstrokes in this one (and others).
Thank you Patricia! I was just thinking that I might use this as a jumping off point for a larger painting.
I'm so glad you came by my blog and took a minute to comment.
