Wow. Wow. Wow. On the way to school today I saw this exact scene and almost pulled the car over to stand by the side of the road and shout. Hey! Nicki is painting scenes like this -- go home and look for her fabulous work. Of course it wasn't exactly like this, it was just about this. No one can paint like you do.
Nicki this has been a lovely series and a great theme! (btw thank you for your supportive comments but i took the most recent portrait down... i wasnt happy with some parts)
Thanks! it's not on the wall yet, but I hope that will be true when I get it hung!

Hi Rahina,
Thank you- it is something I have been thinking about too long and I am glad I finally used those reference photos. I may even try to get some new ones this spring if the snow ever actually melts!

Hi Judy,
I'm happy you favour this one, too. And it was quite a limited palette; I rarely paint anything without green in it somewhere!
It's my favourite too! Love the brushwork and the composition, and of course the COLOUR! I think it would be great in a month or two to go back and do a second series of this field. The changes would be interesting!

What a wonderful, complimentary comment, Barbara. Thank you!
Have a great weekend,
Nicki
Yep, it's my favorite, too. It's a strong piece to be so small. I'll bet it demands attention on a wall - even if it has bigger pieces around it.

My favourite too, Nicki - it manages to be so vibrant and yet such a limited palette!

Hi Kim,
Thank you! You are right, I should do the seasons of this field. It will look very different in a few months time.
