One last little 8x8" kiss for the Meewasin Trail. I'm pleased with the light in this one- it actually kind of kisses the tops of the trees. I'm pretty sure I will revisit the subject again, it has been so much fun playing with all of these colours.
Note: I thought it was a word and when I looked it up to make sure it really was, the dictionary said that "illume" was a poetic word for illuminate. Perfect. Spell check doesn't acknowledge it, though.

I like that 'kiss of light' also. You captured it perfectly. I have so enjoyed watching these paintings go by on facebook. Sorry I've not taken the time to let you know how much. I'll bet the gallery is having a hard time keeping them in stock.

Lovely Nicki! And what a lovely, poetic word. Thanks for introducing me to it. The sun-kissed streak is great. You've captured a moment I always admire.
I have been so impressed with these. Such amazing paintings on a small surface. I don't know how you're doing it.
XO Barbara
Maybe spell check thought you spelled it "lllume" .... 'cause that is what it looks like on the post!!! (this really makes me giggle)
Dear sister, I am so proud of you and your amazing Meewasin gems. It would be neat - and very Saskatoon-y - if you painted the same view during each season.
Hi Don,
I've been talking about you and your family... there is a possibility I may have an opportunity to go to Vegas this summer! I will keep you posted! I have been so bad at keeping in touch with my favorite Bloggers in the last year, but when I have a minute I always want to see what you have been up to. I still love my Don Michael Jr. painting and I feel so honoured to have it on my wall. Thank you for all the encouragement you have given me as I pursue my dream and I hope you know I am behind you every step of the way as well.
Nicki
Thank you, Kim. "Illume"- it is a beautiful word isn't it? I love this moment in time as well.

Thank you, dear Barbara. These are small, but also big enough to get my idea across... a little easier than the 6x6's.
I hope you are well. I miss you. Is that weird?
XO Nicki
Hello... "Illume" is correct according to the dictionary, but spell check doesn't pick it up. I love the word... a shortened version of "illuminate".
I think that is a fabulous idea and I will do just that... take some photos this spring of that very location where I took those Fall resource photos (on the Broadway Bridge). Saskatoon-y paintings are on the 2013 agenda!
Nicki - I'm sorry I don't get to visit very often these days but in a way, it may be easier for me to see how your work has progressed if I don't stop by so often!
This one is breath-taking - it has a kind of magical quality about it!
